The Salem Wildcats led unbeaten Mascoutah through 3 quarters, but a late 3 pointer from Derek Plab gave the Indians a late lead they would not give back as the Wildcats fell 47-42. For Plab it was his 4th three pointer of the game as he finished with 14. Caden Bee scored 13 of his game-high 19 in the first quarter as Salem was building a 19-9 lead after the first 8 minutes. Kaleb Anthony had 9 points for Salem off the bench. The Indians got 14 from Jack Seibert and 10 from Justin King as well. Salem is 3-4 as they prepare to host Columbia on Friday night.
The SC Cougars dropped to 3-2 with a 61-57 loss to Vandalia. Aidan Dodson led the Cougars with 25 with Anthony Buanaura adding 14. Vandalia also won the JV game with SC taking the freshman contest.
