The Salem Wildcats won their 3rd straight game, winning their home opener over Newton 48-43. Caden Bee had 18 points and 9 rebounds to lead the Cats. Rolan Adams hit three 3s on his way to 11 points. Brayden Phillips added 7 points 10 rebounds. The Cats are 3-2 and will open up their Cahokia Conference season at Breese Central on Friday night.
Coach Jason Lewis and the Salem JV opened their season with a nice 55-50 victory.
The Sandoval Blackhawks are 4-1 after knocking off Mulberry Grove on the road tonight 51-38. The Sandoval JV improved to 2-0 with their win.
Ethan Watwood scored 22, Spencer Johannes 15 and Aidan Dodson 13 as SC knocked off St Elmo/Brownstown 60-43. Keenin Wilshire pulled down 9 rebounds in the win. The Cougars are 1-1 on the season and will host Waltonville in their home opener tonight. The JV and Fresh/Soph also won last night.
