Nashville Into State Semis, Cahokia Schools Fall

The IHSA football quarterfinals were played on Saturday.

In Class 2a, the Nashville Hornets got 102 yards and 4 touchdowns from senior tailback Connor Gladson in their 43-19 win over Pana.  They advance to the state semifinals this weekend when they host Decatur St Teresa after their 48-14 win over Mater Dei.

In 3a, Mt Carmel beat Benton 30-14 and will play Tolono Unity in the semifinals on the road.

In 4a, the run for Cahokia schools is over as Freeburg lost to Rochester 57-28 and Breese Central fell to Sacred Heart Griffin 55-14.

In 5a, Marion lost to Kankakee 44-38 and Morton over Mahomet Seymour 40-28.

In 6a, East St Louis beat Lemont 42-21 and advances to play at Crete Monee this weekend.
