Breese Central advanced to the 4a quarterfinals with their 48-28 win over Murphysboro. Sacred Heart Griffin routed Civic Memorial 42-7, Freeburg over Carterville 37-21. This week, Breese Central will head to Sacred Heart Griffin and Freeburg will play at Rochester.
In 5a, Mahomet Seymour knocked off Triad 49-14 and Marion over Mascoutah 51-21. This week, Marion goes to Kankakee and Mahomet will play at Morton.
East St Louis is into the 6a quarterfinals after their 54-0 win over Oak Lawn Richards and will play at Lemont this week.
In 3a, Benton beat Monticello 42-12, Mt Carmel over Carlinville 54-7 and Fairfield lost to Williamsville 35-16. Mt Carmel will host Benton this weekend.
In 2a, Nashville got 168 yards and a touchdown from running back Connor Gladson as they beat Bismarck-Henning on the road 33-26. Breese Mater Dei advanced beating Johnston City 49-22, Vandalia lost to St Teresa 68-14 and Pana over Maroa Forsyth 29-7. This weekend, Mater Dei is at Decatur St Teresa and Nashville will host Pana.
In 1a, Sesser Valier’s season ended with a 57-28 loss to Athens.
