Oilers rally past Rangers in OT

UNDATED (AP) — The names have changed, but the Edmonton Oilers are creating the same success they enjoyed while winning five Stanley Cups in seven seasons during the mid-to-late 1980s.
 
The Oilers are at team-record 9-1 after scoring four of the last five goals in a 6-5 comeback over the Rangers. Leon Draisaitl ended it at 3:27 of OT and assisted on Connor McDavid’s tying goal with 2:59 left in regulation.
 
Draisaitl, McDavid and Tyson Barrie each had a goal and two assists for the Oilers, while Darnell Nurse set up three tallies.
 
Mika Zibanejad scored twice for the Rangers, who are 5-0-2 in their last seven road games.
 
Elsewhere on NHL ice:
 
— Adam Henrique had a goal and an assist as the Ducks handed the Coyotes their 11th straight loss to start the season, 3-1. Troy Terry extended his points streak to 10 games. Sonny Milano and Sam Carrick also scored in the third straight victory for the Ducks, who have earned a point in six of their last seven games.
 
— Roman Josi and Philip Tomasino both scored for the Predators in a 3-2 verdict over the Canucks. Matt Duchene added an even-strength tally and Mikael Granlund contributed a pair of assists as Nashville improved to 6-5. Brock Boeser and Nils Hoglander replied for the Canucks, who fell to 4-6-1.
 
— Alex Iafallo quickly scored in overtime to send the Kings to their fourth straight win, 3-2 over the Devils. Arthur Kaliyev scored a power-play goal, Adrian Kempe tallied and Calvin Petersen made 21 saves. Pavel Zacha tied it up with 24 seconds remaining in the third period to salvage a point for New Jersey.
 
— The Jets earned their fourth straight home win as Kyle Connor and Nikolaj Ehlers each had a goal and had an assist in their 5-1 verdict over the Blackhawks. Paul Stastny, Neal Pionk and Dominic Toninato also scored, and Andrew Copp had three assists as the Jets moved to 6-2-2, their best start since moving from Atlanta. MacKenzie Entwistle scored short-handed in the third period for Chicago, which is off to a 1-9-2 start.
