The prep volleyball post season continued last night with Sectional championships.
The Mater Dei Lady Knights are into the Elite 8 following their Vandalia Sectional championship win over Staunton 25-17, 25-17. They will advance to Nashville on Friday to take on the Lady Lions of Carterville after they beat Nashville at Johnston City in 3 sets.
In 1a NCOE won the Wayne City Sectional knocking off Cumberland in straight sets. At Tuscola, Windsor fell to St Thomas More and at Marissa it was Waterloo Gibault beating Valmeyer. The Super Sectional on Friday will see Gibault and Springfield Lutheran play from Raymond Lincolnwood.
In 3a at Bethalto, Taylorville knocked off Waterloo and advances to their own Super Sectional Friday in Taylorville where they will get Normal Community West after their straight sets win over Rochester.
In 4a, Edwardsville won the Pekin Sectional beating Normal Community in straight sets. They will play Huntley Friday at DeKalb.
