The prep volleyball Sectionals will open up tonight. In Class 1a, South Central is making their 11th Sectional appearance in school history with their lone title coming in 2011. The Lady Cougars are 28-6 and will play at Wayne City tonight against NCOE in the first semifinal at 5:30. The other match will feature Cumberland and Woodlawn.
Also in 1a Sectionals tonight at Marissa, Trico takes on Valmeyer followed by Gibault and Steeleville. At Tuscola, Windsor/Stew Stras will take on Farmer City.
In 2a Sectionals tonight at Johnston City, Carmi takes on Carterville followed by Nashville and Hamilton County. At Vandalia, Mater Dei plays Pana followed by Staunton and Breese Central.
In 3a at Civic Memorial, Waterloo takes on Mattoon followed at 6:30 tonight with Centralia and Taylorville.
In 4a tonight at Edwardsville the host Lady Tigers takes on O’Fallon with Normal and Moline playing in the other semifinal at Pekin.
