The Salem boys and girls cross country teams qualified for this weekend’s Class 1a Sectional to be ran at the Hickory Point Golf Course in Decatur.  Breanna Thurman led the girls to a fifth place finish and Alek Bandy led the boys to a 4th place finish.

The Christ Our Rock Lutheran High School cross country girls advance to the IHSA sectional cross country meet to be held next Saturday at Trenton Wesclin with a 5th place finish today at the class 1A Benton Regional Cross Country meet. I’m so proud of our girls and the effort they ran with today. We had 5 girls run a personal best time and Sarah Mckowen finished 5 making the All-Regional team and medaling! Kylie Eversgerd was 13 and Rylee Brammeier 15.

The Christ Our Rock Lutheran High School boys cross-country season comes to an end with a 9th place finish at the ihsa regional cross country meet at Benton. These boys ran their hearts out and finished only 7 points behind the number #8 spot. Five out of our six boys ran a personal-best time today. Zerek Koch ran 17:00 for the course narrowly missing going as an individual as they take the top 5 finishers not on a team advancing. His 29th overall place put him as the #6 individual not on a team advancing. We had 3 runners run under 18 mins and Thomas Taylor who was running 25, 26 minute races at the beginning of the season ran a 19:34 today.
