The KC cross country teams finished their regular season schedule on a high note. KC traveled to St. Louis for the Fall Classic hosted by St. Louis Health Sciences and Pharmacy College. The Blue Angels placed 6th out of 8 full teams with 130 points. Megan Cook finished in 11th with a season best time of 20 minutes and 2 seconds. Summer Chelf was 13th in 20 minutes and 25 seconds. Nashville grad Cayla Krueger was 25th in a time of 21 minutes and 34 seconds. Number 4 and 5 were Mya Albers and Macie Hargis. Maggie Fitzgerald was the 6th Blue Angel to cross the finish line.
The Blue Devils were 3rd out of 6 full teams with a score of 69 points. Ty Reyonlds placed 3rd overall in a career best time of 26 minutes and 34 seconds. Crossing in 13th was Alex Detmer in 28 minutes and 10 seconds. Caleb Klein was 16th in 28 minutes and 37 seconds. Next in line was Sam Britt in 28 minutes and 46 seconds. The 5th counter was Kolton Shoemaker in 29:15, he was followed by Andrew Stevenson in 29:26. Ryan Gerdes was next for KC in 30:13. All 7 Blue Devils had personal best times.
The KC Cross Country teams open up postseason on October 28th with the NJCAA Region 24 meet at the campus of EIU.
