B’s hand Sharks first loss

UNDATED (AP) — The Boston Bruins have ended the San Jose Sharks’ perfect start to the season.
 
Brad Marchand scored 28 seconds into the game and added an assist as the Bruins dealt the Sharks their first loss in five games, 4-3. David Pastrnak and Derek Forbort each had a goal and an assist for the B’s, who hung on after San Jose tallied twice over the final 6:41.
 
Linus Ullmark finished with 23 saves in the victory.
 
Elsewhere on NHL ice:
 
— The Islanders are on a 3-0-1 roll after Ilya Sorokin posted his second consecutive shutout in a 2-0 win at Vegas. Josh Bailey and Mat Barzal did the scoring to support Sorokin’s 42-save performance in Game 6 of New York’s season-opening, 13-game road trip.
 
— The Blackhawks remain winless after Lucas Raymond had three goals and an assist in the Red Wings’ 6-3 verdict over Chicago. The No. 4 overall pick in last year’s draft recorded his first career hat trick in his sixth NHL game.
 
— Roman Josi had a four-point game and Connor Ingram won his first NHL start as the Predators handed the Wild their first loss in five games this season, 5-2. Josi had a goal and three assists to support Ingram’s 33 save effort.
 

 
Hawks have 3 more positive COVID-19 tests
 
CHICAGO (AP) — Blackhawks defenseman Riley Stillman and forward Jujhar Khaira joined Patrick Kane in the NHL’s COVID-19 protocol before Sunday’s game against the Red Wings.
 
The Blackhawks announced Sunday morning that forward Ryan Carpenter and defenseman Erik Gustafsson had been removed from COVID-19 protocol. But there was no word on Kane.
 
Assistant Marc Crawford was prevented from coaching on Sunday because of the protocol.
