Two Effingham County residents were injured when a truck hauling a trailer went out of control on Wayne County Highway One and the trailer jackknifed. Illinois State Police say the trailer then separated from the truck which came to rest on its roof.
The truck was driven by 46-year-old Gregory Bergfeld of Teutopolis. He along with a passenger, 23-year-old Zachery Lindsey of Effingham, were both airlifted to a regional hospital with serious injuries.
The crash occurred at 1:30 Friday afternoon.
