A 45-year-old Mt. Vernon man received a 60-year prison term in Jefferson County Court on Thursday for two counts of armed violence and a single count of unlawful use of a weapon.
Alvin Smallwood was earlier found guilty of the charges by a Jefferson County Jury. The charges stem from a July 2020 shooting of Keshawn Harris and Isaiah Green in the 2800 block of College Street in Mt. Vernon. Both received hospital treatment.
Smallwood received 30 years in prison on one of the Class X armed violence charges and 25-years on the second count and five years on the unlawful use of weapons charge with all three sentences running consecutively.
