This is the final week for teams in prep football around the state to complete their playoff resumes ahead of Saturday night’s playoff selection.
The Salem Wildcats will travel to Charleston looking for their 5th win to get playoff eligible. The Trojans enter at 2-6 and will honor their seniors trying to keep the former Apollo rival Wildcats out of the playoffs.
Also in the Cahokia, Columbia is 4-4 and will try to get playoff eligible with a win at 2-6 Jerseyville. On the Illinois side of the League, Red Bud is 4-4 and will play at 2-6 Wood River.
Already into the playoffs from the Cahokia are Breese Central, Freeburg and Chester.
In the South Seven, the Centralia Orphans can get to 5 wins but it won’t be easy as they travel to play at 7-1 Collinsville. Cahokia is 4-4 and will play in St Louis this weekend at True Divine Word.
In the Apollo, the Effingham Hearts will host the Highland Bulldogs in a battle of 4-4 teams with Lincoln also looking for their 5th win with a win at home against 6-2 Triad.
In the Little Illini, Olney will try to get to 5 wins with they host 3-5 Robinson while 4-4 Newton takes on 0-8 Marshall.
In the South Central Conference it’s a huge game against arch rivals with 4-4 Greenville plays at 7-1 Vandalia for Pack The Place night in Fayette County. 4-4 Piasa will play at 2-6 Gillespie.
In the SI River to River Mississippi Division, 4-4 DuQuoin is at home against 6-2 Murphysboro while 4-4 Anna hosts undefeated Benton.
