The Franklin Park Lady Bobcats basketball team opened their season last night at home with two victories. The varsity team defeated Vandalia by a score of 49-17 and were led in scoring by Jordan Kessler’s 15, Kylee Garrison’s 10, and Marah Johnson’s 8 points and 8 rebounds. Hannah Smith and Jaelyn Keller had 7 and 5 steals respectively.
In the JV contest, Mya Russell led the way in the 22-10 win with 10 points. Brylee Pennypacker scored 6 and Quinn Wolfe added 4.
The Lady Bobcats are back in action Tuesday at T-town.
Kell/Farrington beat Willow Grove/St Mary in a tight opener 25-24. Emrie Quick led St Mary with 16, McKenna Michael added 6 and Laynee Garren 2. The Wildcards are back in action tonight against Odin.
Central City beat Odin 35-18 in their opener in the varsity game and the Citians won the JV game 57-39.
Tonight is Meet The Bobcats night for Franklin Park. In years past, both the boys and girls teams would play on this night and scrimmage, but tonight it will just be the boys basketball team. The night begins at 6pm.
