State Police say one of the truck drivers involved in a two-rig collision on Southbound I-57 just north of the Kinmundy exit went to an area hospital for treatment.

Preliminary investigation details indicate that a semi driven by 66-year-old Lieonell Stahoski of Pine Island, Minnesota was traveling southbound when it ran onto the right should and struck a disabled semi driven by 34-year-old Rami Toma of Warren, Michigan. State Police say the disabled truck had hazard lights activated and a reflective triangle placed behind the vehicle.

After impact, Stahoski continued into the right ditch and caught fire. Kinmundy-Alma Firemen say both drivers were out of their trucks upon arrival. The semi that caught fire had both the cab and trailer destroyed.

Foam was put on the fire. Firemen were on the scene for about three hours after getting the call at 1:30 Wednesday afternoon. Stahoski was ticketed for improper lane usage, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and failure to reduce speed when approaching a disabled vehicle.

Stahoski was taken to an area hospital for treatment of injuries.  Toma was not injured.
