A 51-year-old Flora woman has been arrested on new drug charges as well as a Clay County warrant after claiming she was lost when found by Centralia Police in the Fairview Shopping Center at 3:30 Thursday morning.
Police say Julie Vermette told them she had lost her GPS when trying to find another business and then reportedly gave police a false name to avoid detection that she was wanted on a Clay County warrant. The warrant was for failure to appear on a possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor theft case,
with bond set at $10,000.
Her pickup truck was searched before being towed. A small black box containing a syringe and a small baggie of what is believed to be methamphetamine was allegedly recovered along with multiple needles found throughout the truck. Vermette had new charges of possession of less than five grams of methamphetamine and possession of a hypodermic syringe added before being transported to the Clinton County Jail a Carlyle.
