Wilburn “Willie” Lee Belcher, 78, of Centralia, passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2021, in SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia.
Willie was born March 30, 1943, in Belleville, Illinois, the son of Zaibe Ernest Belcher and Esther Pauline (Hastings) Belcher. He married Bonnie (Newcomb) Belcher on November 25, 1989, and she survives him in Centralia.
In addition to his wife Bonnie Belcher, he is survived by one son: Willie Belcher, Jr. of and wife Denise of Tennessee; three daughters: Melissa Brown of Richview, Illinois, Tonia Alexander and husband Rob of Centralia, and Crystal McClelland and partner Marti McCord of Tennessee; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother: William Belcher of Caseyville; and one sister: Patti Porzukowiak and husband Bill of O’Fallon, Illinois.
Willie loved his job as a truck driver. He liked to fish and work on small engines. He enjoyed family get-togethers and cookouts. He will be remembered as a loving husband father, and grandfather.
Per Willie Belcher’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and a memorial service will be held on Monday, October 18, 2021, at 7:00 p.m. at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois. Friends are welcome to come to visit with the family at the visitation on Monday, October 18, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. till the time of service at 7:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
