Salem’s 3rd/4th grade boys finished up their season on Saturday with a 2-3 loss vs Carlyle. Alyx Pears scored twice. Coach Kyle Gansauer said he was very proud of the improvement the boys had this season.
The 3rd/4th grade girls hosted Trenton Saturday morning. They stayed unbeaten with a 16-0 victory. Goals were scored by Alyx Pearce (4), Sophia Decker (3), Gabby Gaston (2), Alei Dietz (2), Braelyn Holzhausen, Kinsley Gansauer, Brooklyn Anderson, Paisley Standford and Addyson Nix. Gianna Lowder, Holzhausen and Gaston shared time in net.
The 5th/6th grade girls hosted New Baden Saturday afternoon. They remained undefeated with an 11-0 victory. Adeline Douglas scored four and Shelby Johnson added two. Brylee Carter, Emily Guzman, Adysen Pracht, Kayleigh Jarrett and Amiah Farley added one each.
The 5th/6th boys hosted Albers on Saturday night for their last home game of the season. They were able to hold of Albers in the first half to 0-1, but were ultimately downed 0-6. Coach Aaron Davis said, “That was one of the best teams in our league. I’m very proud how John Hahs and the defense kept them to one goal in the first half.”
The 7th/8th grade team stayed undefeated in league play. They beat Highland 14-0 on Saturday. Kyle Keys and Isaiah Findley combined to keep the clean sheet in net. Goals were scored by Austin Woolridge (4), Robby Shober (4), Ryegan Warren (2), Jordan Kessler (2), Caleb Purintun and Elara Brubaker. Assist were handed out by Kessler (3), Shober (2), Woolridge and Purintun.
The 1st/2nd Grade’s Monday night game was canceled due to the field conditions.
