Two juveniles were injured in a four-wheeler crash early Sunday evening on Maplewood Avenue just north of Salem.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Department reports a 13-year-old boy from Sandoval was driving the four-wheeler southbound on Maplewood Avenue when for an unknown reason he ran off the west side of the road and rolled.
Both the driver and 14-year-old female passenger from Salem were thrown from the vehicle when it overturned. The girl’s parents live nearby and called 911 to report the crash.
The two were taken by ambulance to Salem Township Hospital where they were later airlifted to a St. Louis hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
