A big crowd was on hand for an expanded Celebrate Centralia event Saturday night.
Community Development Director Gayla Harting was in charge of the event but credited all her fellow city employees, volunteers, and even the Centralia High School football team for making it possible.
“It’s unbelievable. This year, I think with the COVID everyone is wanting to get out and get together and this is just a great time to do it. The weather couldn’t of been better for us today. Cooling off this evening with just a little bit of breeze and they really came out early this year. Our crowd was here at 4 pm when we started.”
And the crowd continued to build into the evening hours listening to the music and visiting the various vendors and food trucks. Two wineries and Castle Ridge joined the event this year. The event is held free each year in the 300 block of East Broadway in downtown Centralia next to Carillon Park.
