The Salem Wildcats (10-9) soccer team will host their regional opener this morning as they will play Pinckneyville at 10am. The winner will head to Columbia next week to take on the 2nd seeded Eagles in the Regional Semifinal.
Also today Lebanon hosts Carlyle, Massac County welcomes Mt Carmel, Vandalia is at Pana, Valmeyer goes to Gibault.
In other 1a regional games yesterday, Altamont defeated Robinson 7-2 behind 4 goals from Noah Kimpel. Effingham St Anthony shutout Arthur 8-0.
