UNDATED (AP) — Fifth-ranked Cincinnati was able to avoid a letdown following their emotional win at Notre Dame last weekend.
Desmond Ridder threw for 259 yards and three touchdowns in the Bearcats’ 23rd consecutive home win, a 52-3 laugher against Temple. Jerome Ford ran for a career-high 149 yards and two scores for Cincinnati, which owns the nation’s second-longest home winning streak.
On the first snap of the second half, Ford found a gaping hole and sprinted 75 yards for a touchdown that made it 24-3.
Owls QB D’wan Mathis was held to 120 yards passing after throwing for 614 yards and five touchdowns last weekend.
The other top-25 game of the day had Rachaad White, Jayden Daniels and Elijhah Badger rushing for touchdowns to carry No. 22 Arizona State to an 28-10 win against Stanford. Cardinals quarterback Tanner McKee passed for 356 yards and a TD but was intercepted three times, including a pick-and-pitch that DeAndre Pierce brought back 27 yards for the game-clinching score.
