Marion County set to dismiss web designer as frustration builds over the website never being completed

The web design committee of the Marion County Board is recommending the full county board dismiss its web designer at Tuesday’s meeting.

Board Chair Debbie Smith says Joshua Favors has become unresponsive when contacted about uploading the final information before the website can go live. She and other board members on the committee admitted frustration that after months of work the website still has not gone live. Smith added they have promised the website to several residents.

The website will provide meeting notices and agendas as well as information on board members and what districts they represent. Information will also be available on filing freedom of information requests.

Another web developer is being invited to Tuesday night’s meeting to discuss taking over the website project from scratch. They are hoping for better results this time as the company developed the Clinton County Board website.
