Marion County Health Department reports 81 new COVID-19 cases; 2 more deaths reported in Clinton County

The Marion County Health Department is reporting 81 new COVID-19 cases from Saturday through Tuesday.

Health Department officials say 12 of those infected were fully vaccinated.  14 were of school age, six were four years and younger.  On the upper end of the scale were six in their 70s and three in their 80s.  None were long-term care residents.  All are in isolation.

There are now 770 on isolation, including 34 in the hospital.  Four of those are on ventilators.  The health department reports two are in their 30s, five in their 40s, 10 in their 50s, 11 in their 60s, four in their 70s, and two in their 80s.

During the past four days, 39 were released from isolation.

There have now been 6,453 positive COVID-19 cases and 145 deaths in Marion County since the pandemic began.

Clinton County has hit the 100 death mark for the pandemic with two deaths reported last week.  They were a female in her 70s and a male in his 90s.  There are 89 currently on home isolation with 65 new cases being recorded by the health department in the week ending last Friday.

The Jefferson County Health Department is reporting 59 new cases of COVID-19 from Saturday to Tuesday.  There are currently 91 in isolation.
