A 19-year-old Mt. Vernon man died in a single-car wreck off New Harmony Lane north of Mt. Vernon early Saturday morning.
A witness told the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department that Hunter Marlow swerved to miss a deer before running off the road and striking a power pole causing the power lines to fall on the vehicle. Marlow was reported to be deceased by the first responders on the scene. However, they had to wait to remove his body until Tri-County Electric crews could make sure the power line was no longer a danger.
The crash occurred around 1:30 Saturday morning.
