The SIJHSAA state baseball tournaments open today. Class L will be at Centralia with the day beginning with Marion and Carterville at 10 with the winner playing either DuQuoin or Flora who are scheduled to play at 11.
In Class M at Pinckneyville, Nashville opens with St Boniface at 1:30 and the winner will play either Albion or Rome who play at 3:30.
At Coulterville in Class S, Altamont Lutheran will take on Cisne at 11:30. That winner will play in the semifinal against either St John’s Red Bud or Holy Childhood Macoutah.
The state softball tournaments are also underway today, weather permitting. Patoka will open up their Class S tournament in Coulterville at 3:30 when they take on New Hope. The winner will advance to Tuesday’s semifinal against either Jonesboro or Crab Orchard.
Carlyle prepares for their 11:30 opener at Pinckneyville in the Class M Tournament when they will play Albion. That winner will move on to the semifinal against the winner of Johnston City and Vienna.
Centralia will be the site for Class L and will begin at 10am with Marion and Carterville.
