A 38-year-old Centralia man was sentenced to 30 days in jail for indirect criminal contempt of court after reportedly flipping off the judge with both hands.

Cody Rigney of South Poplar had just had bond set at $100,000 on a new charge of possession of 15 to 100 grams of methamphetamine when the incident occurred during a Friday Zoom court hearing.

Judge Michael McHaney ordered Rigney to serve the 30-day contempt sentence at the conclusion of any sentence handed down for possession of meth.

Rigney had been arrested on the meth charge following a traffic stop by Wamac Police at 12:36 Thursday afternoon.   He reportedly had the meth on his person.

Rigney had the public defender appointed to represent him and had a preliminary hearing set for October 26th.
