The Marion County Health Department is reporting 88 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday and Thursday. There were no additional deaths reported during the two days.
There are now 673 active cases, including 33 who are in the hospital. Four of those in the hospital are on ventilators. Of those in the hospital, two are in their 80s, three in their 70s, 11 in their 60s, 10 in their 50s, 5 in their 40s, and two in their 30s.
Of the 88 new cases, 14 are fully vaccinated. 25 are school age and two are four years and younger. On the upper end of the scale are five in their 70s. None were long-term care residents. The health department considers 80 of the cases as community spread and eight who obtained the disease from household or close contacts.
