The Franklin Park cross country team traveled to Kaskaskia College for their Invitational.
The varsity boys ran without their top 2 runners, but still put all 5 counters in the top 10 on their way to remaining undefeated. Alex Spencer won the race and was followed in the top 10 by Hunter Malan, Payton Gullion, Caleb Purintun and Avery Gullion.
Selmaville was led by Kyler Sapp who was 11th, Wyatt McCarty finished 33rd.
The varsity girls won the even with Kendall Zimmermann the overall winner. Caitlynn Bryan, Ella Robinson, Finley Puricelli and Jordan Kessler rounded out the top five for Salem.
The Lady Rockets were led by Maci Thorsen in 9th, Carly Veach 19 and Taylor Blackburn was 22nd followed by Abbi Patrick 23.
The Bobcats JV boys won their event with Scout Puricelli’s 2nd and Nate Lowry, Gabe Thomason, and Will Vincent were Salem’s top runners.
Selmaville’s JV boys were led by Rafe James 25, Sean Barham 27 and Jaxon Ward 29.
The FP JV girls also won the event. Gracie Dice won the event. Charlotte Johnson, Teagan Lobek, Nora Purcell, Adelynn Bumgarner and Brynn Kessler all ran well for Salem.
The JV girls for Selmaville, Gabby Harper was 6, Kenna Benjamin 10, Karmen Murray 14, Gia Ward 15 and Mackenzie Mulvaney 17.
In the open race, Salem 3rd grader Mason Dice won the race. Koltyn Tolka was 2nd, Lewis Edy 3rd, Eden Russell 4th, Kemper Johnson 5th, Kendall Laird 6, Grayson Purintun 7th, Jaxey Donoho 8th and Liam Morris 10th.
