The Salem cross country was at the Freeburg Invitational on Saturday.
Top finisher for the girls was Breanna Thurman finishing 35th out of 137 runners in a time of 20:34, her best time of the season.
With 139 runners in the boys race Alek Bandy led the boys team coming in 35th followed by Caden Beer 40th and Ricardo Salgado 53rd.
This Saturday just before the Little Egypt Festival the cross country team along with the SCHS drama department will be hosting a 5K fundraiser, come out and race on the parade route and help support two Salem Community High School groups.
Christ Our Rock was also at Freeburg. The girls had no team score but had 3 medal in the race. Sarah Mckowen was 14, Kylie Eversgerd 22 and Ryley Brammeier 24th. The boys were 12th out of 24 teams. Elijah Gregory led the way finishing 45, Zerek Koch 56 and Isiah Lyons 60.
