Salem Police say three people were injured in a two-vehicle crash at Boone and Ohio Streets during the noon hour on Saturday.

Police report an SUV driven by 81-year-old Charlene Haskett of Bob White Lane in Salem failed to stop at a stop sign while traveling on Ohio Street near Boone.  She reportedly ran into the side of a pickup truck driven by 62-year-old Rhonda Gordon of Euclid Street in Iuka that was traveling eastbound on Boone Street.

Haskett, Gordon, and one of three passengers in the Gordon vehicle, a seven-year-old female juvenile, were all taken to Salem Township Hospital for treatment of injuries.  Police say all injuries are believed to be minor.  The other two in Gordon’s vehicle, 26-year-old Jarrett Harris of Euclid Avenue in Iuka, and a five-year-old male juvenile were not injured.

Haskett was issued a ticket for disregarding a stop sign.

Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

The Salem Fire Protection District was called to handle fluids that had leaked out of one of the vehicles.
