The Salem Wildcats came up short at the Cahokia Golf Championships held at Governor’s Run. Although they knocked 12 strokes off of last year’s total, they were still 4 strokes off conference champion Breese Central 336-340. Columbia was 3rd with 350 followed by Freeburg, 369, Wood River 391 and Roxana 463.
Breese Central’s Konnor Keuper, a freshman, shot 80 to win the conference championship with Columbia senior Alex Patrick 2nd with an 82. Salem’s Jairen Stroud and Isaak Williams each shot 84 to finish in a tie for 4th and Brogan Gregg was 6th shooting 85. Cale Harris was also in the top 10 shooting 87.
The Wildcats will play at the Centralia Tournament Saturday.
