The Franklin Park Bobcats cross country team is still undefeated after winning the Mt Vernon Invitational yesterday. Salem’s Robby Shober won the race followed by teammate Payton Gullion in 2nd with Hunter Malan, Alex Spencer, Avery Gullion and Caleb Purintun all running in the top 10 for the Bobcats. Scout Puricelli was 11th running in his first varsity meet.
The varsity girls also won their division behind a first place performance from Kendall Zimmermann. Caitlynn Bryan, Finley Puricelli, Ella Robinson, Jordan Kessler, Kinsea Jarrett and Addie Leaver also ran well.
In the JV boys race, Will Vincent and Nate Lowry were 1-2 with Gabe Thomason 6 and Jake McIntosh 14.
In the JV girls race, Gracie Dice won the event, Teagan Lobek 3rd, Charlotte Johnson 6, Nora Purcell 10 and Adelynn Bumgarner 11.
Franklin Park will run at the DuQuoin Class L Pre-State Meet on Saturday.
