Log Cabin Village attracts thousands over the weekend

Big crowds were reported on both Saturday and Sunday for Log Cabin Village Days in Kinmundy.

The treasurer of the KPI organization that operates the events and is responsible for upkeep of the Log Cabin Village Teresa Hanks says response to the cabins  and vendors was great.

“We had a great weekend.  It was a little warm the first day, but we had a big crowd and people seemed to enjoy it.  We are supposed to have cooler weather next weekend so we hope that brings the people out as well.”

Hanks says the rain came late enough on Sunday not to hurt attendance, although some did leave when the rains hit. Attendance figures are only kept for both weekends of the event, which continues next Saturday and Sunday. Hanks expects around 120 vendors again next weekend.

KPI is already planning for a bigger and better Halloween Haunted Trail the last two Friday and Saturday night’s of October.

Hanks says the village will soon have two more log cabins that will be moved to the village in the near future. That will bring the total number of cabins open to  14 with two others closed for major repairs.
