A 34-year-old Mt. Vernon man faces multiple charges following an early Saturday morning police chase. Wamac Police reportedly attempted to stop Matthew Smith of South 18th on Wabash Avenue when he allegedly fled. The chase eventually ended at 2nd and Perrine after Smith allegedly traveled through several yards before his vehicle stopped running and he was taken into custody. Smith is being held in the Marion County Jail for aggravated fleeing and eluding police, aggravated reckless driving, aggravated assault, and aggravated battery to a police officer.
35-year-old Stephanie Laughhunn of Cody Road in Centralia was arrested by Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies for possession of a controlled substance.
36-year-old Sierra Seeley of West Broadway in Centralia was arrested by State Police on an outstanding Marion County traffic warrant. She posted $250 bond and was released.
