All available Centralia City Firemen were called to a fire in a vacant house at 215 West Second Street late Monday night.
Fire officials say the home had been vacant since a fire a few years ago. Flames were shooting from the front and west side windows upon their arrival. Firemen report a quick knockdown, with the blaze confined to two bedrooms and a bathroom. However, firemen had to pull down blown-in insulation to make sure the fire was out. They remained on the scene for about two hours.
The cause of the fire is currently listed as undetermined. The fire department plans to seek quick action on tearing the home down. It is currently in an estate.
The fire call came in around 10:30 Monday night.
