Salem Police arrested a 50-year-old Salem man for aggravated battery and criminal damage to property following an incident on the Cottonwood Village Apartment parking lot on Tuesday.

Police report Larry Woodward of Cottonwood Drive is accused of breaking the windshield on the car of a 22-year-old Salem man and then allegedly struck the man with the bat in the upper arm and abdomen area.

The alleged victim went to Salem Township Hospital on his own for treatment.

Woodward was later located at his home and taken into custody.   Police say Woodward denied attacking the man.
