Police Beat for Tuesday, September 7th, 2021

A 47-year-old Odin man is being held in the Marion County Jail on multiple charges following his arrest by Wamac Police. William Wright of East Chestnut was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, possession of a narcotic instrument, obstructing ID, and on an outstanding Marion County traffic warrant and Clinton County felony failure to appear or pay warrant on an earlier theft conviction. Bond is set at $2,500 on the Marion County warrant and $5,000 on the Clinton County warrant.

29-year-old Skylar Harper of Thomas Street in Iuka was arrested by Salem Police for alleged domestic battery and criminal trespass to a residence.

Police say Harper had earlier been trespassed from a home in the 1,000 block of North Trenary where he allegedly battered his girlfriend on Monday. Police report she did not require hospital treatment.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Department is investigating criminal damage to a vehicle in the Kell Bar parking lot on Saturday. A pipe reported was used to break out a windshield.
