Applications for entries to the 50th Annual Little Egypt Festival Parade in Salem are now being accepted.

Entry forms are available at the east security entrance desk at the Marion County Courthouse or at the front desk of the WJBD radio studios at 310 West McMackin Street. The entry deadline is Friday, September 24th.

There is a mandatory meeting for those entering the parade on Monday, September 27th, at six pm, at the Marion County Savings Bank Annex Building at 321 West Main Street in Salem. Each entry must have a representative present to be allowed in the parade.

Parade Chair Troy Cannon says there is an added category this year for decorated golf carts.

The parade will be led by Grand Marshals Frank and Jeannine Richards who were the long-time General and Parade Chairs of the Parade. Cannon is making arrangements for other past Grand Marshals, volunteers, and committee chairs to have an entry in the parade as well. The Little Egypt Festival will be held on Saturday, October 2nd. The all-day festival will be capped by the parade at two pm with the traditional route of Route 37 south from Bryan Memorial Park, turning west on Main Street, and breaking up around Indiana Street.
