The 22 new cases include 13 who are school age.  Cases range from one boy under two to two males in their 50s.   Seven of the new cases are considered community spread and 15 as the result of household or close contacts. Of the 22 new cases, two were fully vaccinated.

There are now 578 active cases in the county, including 25 who are in the hospital.  Two are long-term care residents and three are on a ventilator.

Jefferson County is reporting 89 new cases in the past two days with 263 currently in isolation.

Statewide, 30,319 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded for the past week.   The Friday report also reported 178 additional deaths across the state.  IDPH officials say more than 78-percent of Illinois adults have received at least one vaccine dose and more than 61-percent are fully vaccinated.   The statewide positivity rate for the week ending September 2nd is five percent.
