The Marion County Sheriff’s Department is still looking for a man who fled on foot into a wooded area of rural Patoka after crashing his car during a high-speed chase that started in Odin.
Initial reports indicate the chase began on Laury Street in Odin, went west on US 50 to Sandoval, north on US 51 to Wisher Road south of Patoka where the chase went eastbound until a curve where the person being chased lost control and ran into a tree line.
The driver then fled into the wooded area and was not found in a search Tuesday night that included the Marion County K9.
The chase began around eight pm.
It began at the same time deputies were on Laury Street to investigate the theft of a Grey Dodge Neon. The sheriff’s department reports the car theft is not related to the chase.
