The Centralia City Council will meet in a special session Tuesday night to vote on hiring Scott Randall as the new city manager.

Mayor Bryan Kuder says Randal is an ICMA Credentialed Manager who has served as city manager in five communities that include extensive experience in Illinois.

“Approximately 20 resumes were submitted.  We went through the top 5 and we interviewed those.   We got to the top two and Mr. Randall was one of the finalists in the top two.   We called them back for additional interviews.  He just stuck out.  He’s very intelligent and had approximately 40 years of both public and private sector non-profit management experience.   He’s been a city manager for about 20 years in various municipalities.  We thought he would be a great fit for Centralia so that’s who we went with.”

Kuder says his career in local government is highlighted by and recognized for his understanding of economic needs and feels he will be a great asset to Centralia.

Kuder says Randall will be in Centralia for the special council meeting at six Tuesday night.  If approved by the city council, he will start work the next day.
