Governor JB Pritzker is making his stance on school masking clear.
Several school districts are on probation with the state for not following a mandate for all staff and students to wear a mask, whether they are vaccinated or not. At an unrelated press conference, the Governor was asked whether he really would impose sanctions such as loss of funding on schools that don’t comply.
“Am I really going to do that? Yes we are really going to do that and by the way many of the school districts are heading our calls for mask mandates in schools and they are changing their position.”
The Governor says masks are necessary to protect students who can’t get vaccinated and the surrounding community.
