A 24-year-old rural Odin man has been sentenced to five years in prison to be followed by a year of parole after pleading guilty in Marion County Court to an unlawful restraint charge.
Daniel Johnston of Page Avenue was arrested in March after reportedly battering a Centralia woman in her apartment on two successive days before eventually taking a car belonging to the woman’s aunt. As part of the plea, charges of aggravated domestic battery, felony theft, interference reporting of domestic violence, and receiving or possession of stolen property were dropped.
Johnston was also sentenced to five-year prison terms after his probation was revoked on earlier robbery, domestic battery, and unlawful restraint convictions.
