Two people are in custody at the Marion County Jail for alleged aggravated battery after allegedly attacking a man inside his camper that was parked outside their home.

Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 53-year-old Stacy Kniser and 59-year-old Kenneth Powell for allegedly entering the camper that was parked beside their home in the 1100 block of North College Street.

Reports indicate Kniser first entered the camper while the alleged victim was asleep and began choking him.   The man reportedly struck Kniser with a wooden play bat that was beside his bed.   Powell then allegedly entered the home and starting striking the alleged victim.

Kniser went to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment of injuries from being struck by the bat.   Sheriff’s Deputies later picked her up and took her to jail on the aggravated battery charge as well as on a Clinton County traffic warrant.

Powell later was found at his home where he was picked up on the aggravated battery charge and a traffic warrant for alleged driving on a suspended or revoked license.

Deputies say the three knew each other.   The incident occurred at 2:21 Saturday afternoon.
