A vacant Centralia home and garage were destroyed by fire late Friday morning.
Centralia Fire Protection District Assistant Chief Ross Boshera says a neighbor first spotted the fire in the garage at 1226 Gary Street. By the time the firemen arrived, the blaze had spread to the house. The garage was already on the ground and the house received heavy damage with the blaze moving into the attic.
Boshera says the cause of the fire is listed as undetermined.
He reports the home had recently been sold and the name of the owner was not immediately available.
The fire call came in at 11:01 Friday morning, with firemen on the scene for two hours. Centralia City Firemen were called to assist on the scene while Sandoval Firemen stood by at the Centralia Fire Protection District in the event of another fire.
