The Salem 14U split a doubleheader this weekend to finish up their season.
In the first game, Salem was defeated 6-3. Colten Starnes led the Cats at the plate going 2-3. Silas Moats and Rhett Detering added the only other hits. On the mound Heydin Purcell went 4.0 innings and Rhett Detering pitched 3.0 innings, but took the loss.
In the second game of the day, the Wildcats won 7-6 in walkoff fashion when TTown was unable to handle a hard ground ball hit by Heydin Purcell. Rhett Detering, Aden Bass, and Heydin Purcell were each 2-3, Silas Moats was 1-3 with 2 RBI, Cooper Lobek had an RBI single, and Ryan Detering singled to round out the hits for the Wildcats. Ayden Rose, Lyric Black, Colten Shelton and Luke Young all scored runs. Aden Bass was the starting pitcher going 3.0 innings and Cooper Lobek finished the last 3.0 innings and got the win.
