CORLHS Season Ends At Softball Super Sectional

Christ Our Rock girls came up a game short of making their first state softball tournament when they fell to Illini Bluffs 8-0 at the University of Illinois Springfield in Class 1a.  St Anthony did win their Super Sectional at Johnston City over Marissa 4-1.  They will play Arthur in the state semifinals Wednesday at 10am.  Orangeville beat Williamsfield 11-4.

Freeburg’s season came to an end in the 2a Super Sectional at Johnston City as they lost to Massac County 3-1.  The Lady Patriots advance to the State Semifinals on Wednesday when they play Rockridge after their 12-0 win over Tri-City.  The other Supers were won by Tolono Unity over Normal 14-4 and Joliet Catholic beat Riverdale 1-0.

In 3a it was the Highland Lady Bulldogs advancing to the Final Four with their 8-2 win over Chatham Glenwood at Mattoon.  They advance to take on Sterling on Thursday at the Louisville Slugger sports Complex in Peoria after they advanced with a 2-0 win over Antioch.  In the other Super Sectionals, Lemont over Washington 8-0 and Ridgewood 1-0 over St Ignatius.

In 4a softball Supers yesterday it was Huntley in 11-innings over Barrington 6-5, Marist shutout Taft 10-0, Minooka 5-1 over Yorkville and Lincoln Way Central knocked off St Charles North 5-4.
