Peoples National Bank Pitching Leads Them To Sole Possession Of 1st In Pony League Play

In Pony League Action, Peoples National Bank improved to 4-1 with their 5-1 win over Salem Tire.  Heydin Purcell worked the first 3 innings allowing 1 hit and the only run, which was unearned, while striking out 7.  Noah Nix worked 3 innings allowing 2 hits and struck out 5.  Keaton Gullion struck out the side in his one inning of work.  At the plate, Nix doubled, tripled and scored a pair of runs.  Purcell and Brayden Rector drove in runs.  Aden Rostance and Avery Gullion added hits along with Caleb Purintun.  For Salem Tire, Jalen Inlow worked 3 innings of shutout ball allowing 2 hits, Aden Bass worked the next 3 allowing 5 runs on 5 hits with Colton Starnes working the final inning striking out 3.  Inlow had the only Salem Tire hit and run.

In boys minors, Security Alarm beat Squib Tank 5-4.  In the win, Drew Consolino tripled and walked 3 times, Zane Applegate 2-3 with a double.  For Squib, Devin Jennings singled and Kai Graham had 2 hits.

In minors softball, Bandy’s defeated Modern Woodman 17-2.  Kenzie Collier finished with 4 RBI going 3-3 with 3 runs driven in from Julianna Rushing.
