The Salem 14u traveled to Carlyle for a game against the SI Honey Badgers and came away with a 7-3 victory. Keaton Gullion went 2-3 driving in the first run of the game and scored twice. Ryan Detering doubled home a run and scored, Kolsyn Quinn and Silas Moats added RBI. Rhett Detering went 2-3with a run. Heydin Purcell worked the first 3 innings for Salem allowing 1 hit and 1 run with 6 strikeouts. Cooper Lobek worked the next 3.2 allowing 3 hits and 2 runs. Rhett Detering got the save coming in with the bases loaded and the tying run at the plate he got a strikeout to end it.
